GETTING AROUND PENICHE

Peniche is a small town that’s easy to explore on foot. However, some of the must-visit sites, such as Cabo Carvoeiro, Supertubos Beach, and Baleal, are farther from the center and require transportation for easier access.

Peniche is about a 1-hour and 20-minute drive from Lisbon via the A8 and IP6 highways, making it an excellent destination for a road trip. Alternatively, regular buses depart from Lisbon’s Sete Rios bus station and take approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.

For the best experience, renting a car is highly recommended. It gives you the freedom to explore not only Peniche but also nearby destinations like Óbidos, Nazaré, and Fátima at your own pace. With well-maintained roads and plenty of parking options, a car allows you to make the most of your trip without relying on fixed schedules or public transportation.
